Steps to install Android 5.0 Lollipop on Galaxy S2 i9100G:
After downloading both the ROM package file and the GApps file on your PC, connect your Galaxy S2 i9100G to the PC using the USB cable. Copy both these package files on your phone’s SD card. Then safely disconnect the device from the PC & switch it off completely. You need to enter into custom recovery mode now. For that press & hold ‘Volume up + Home button (middle button) + Power button‘ simultaneously until recovery mode appears. Touch won’t work in recovery mode. So use Volume up and down keys for navigation and the Home button for selection. At first, make a complete Nandroid backup of your device. Then return and using Volume keys navigate to the ‘wipe data/factory reset’ option and select it using Home button. On the next screen select the ‘wipe cache partition’ option. This will clear all the data & caches from your phone’s internal memory. Next, navigate to the Advanced option located on the recovery mode. Select it using the home button and on the next screen select the Reboot Recovery option. This will reboot your phone and will land again into recovery. Wait until you boot again into recovery. To flash the ROM navigate to the ‘install zip from SD card’ option located on the recovery. Select it using the Home button. Then on the next screen select ‘choose zip from SD card’ option. This option will show you all the data present on your phone’s external SD card. Select the Omni Custom ROM which you’ve copied earlier. On the next page select the ‘Yes’ option to initiate the flashing process. Be patient till the process completes successfully. After completing the flashing process, you’ll again land into recovery mode. Then again select the ‘wipe data/factory reset’ option followed by ‘wipe cache partition’ option on the recovery mode to clear all phones data & cache. This step is essential to solve the boot loop issue. Similarly, flash the Google Apps as you’ve flashed the Omni ROM. Just remember not to wipe data/cache after flashing them. You may restart your Galaxy S2 i9100G by selecting ‘reboot system now’ option from the recovery mode. This first boot takes more time to start than usual.
