Pre-Requisites:
To avoid any interruption, kindly charge your device to at least 50%.
Install the latest Samsung USB drivers, to recognize your mobile when connected to a PC.
Enable USB debugging in your mobile settings.
Also, enable OEM unlock from the Developer options.
Backup your contacts, apps, messages, call logs, notes, etc for safety.
Steps to install TWRP Recovery on Galaxy A30:
Method 1: ADB & fastboot
Step 1: Download ADB drivers. Step 2: Install it on your PC. Step 3: Now download TWRP.img. Step 4: Transfer this twrp.img file to the location C:\Program Files\Minimal ADB and Fastboot folder (where you’ve installed the ADB drivers). So you’ll have these files in the ADB and Fastboot folder:
Step 5: Using a standard USB cable, connect your Galaxy A30 to PC. Step 6: Go to C:\Program Files\Minimal ADB and Fastboot folder, hold the Shift button, and right mouse click on a space. You’ll see a list of options from which select the Open command window here option. This will launch the command prompt window as shown below.
Step 7: Type the below command in the cmd window and press enter: adb devices As soon as you press enter, you’ll see a message saying ‘List of devices attached’ along with some random numbers. This will confirm that your Galaxy A30 is successfully connected to the PC.
Note: In case if such a thing doesn’t happen, then re-install USB drivers from the Pre-requisites section. Step 8: Then type the following command to boot your Galaxy A30 into fastboot mode. adb reboot bootloader
Step 9: To confirm whether fastboot is functional or not, type the following command: fastboot devices
Note: Some random numbers along with the ‘List of devices attached’ message will verify that fastboot is functional. Step 10: Let’s install TWRP recovery on Galaxy A30 now. For doing that, type the following command and hit the enter key: fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
This will start the TWRP recovery flashing process. Be patient and wait until it finishes. Finally! This is how you can install TWRP recovery on the Galaxy A30 smartphone using ADB and fastboot commands.
Method 2: Odin Tool
Step 1: Download the Odin tool. Step 2: Now download TWRP recovery. Step 3: Power off your Galaxy A30 completely until it vibrates. Step 4: Now boot it into download mode. To do so, press and hold the Power button+ Volume down key simultaneously until the download mode appears. Step 5: Keeping the phone in download mode, connect it to the PC using a USB cable. Step 6: Launch the downloaded Odin tool on your PC.
In Odin, the ID: COM section will turn blue. Also, an Added message will appear. This will confirm that your Galaxy A30 is successfully connected to the PC.
Note: For any connection problems, change the USB cable or the USB port. Step 7: Besides, tick the Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time options.
Note: Do not tick Re-partition or Nand Erase options. Step 8: Tap on the AP button and select the downloaded TWRP recovery.tar.md5 file.
Step 9: To begin the TWRP installation process, simply click on the Start button present on the Odin tool.
Wait until the flashing completes. As soon as it finishes, the ID: COM section will turn green with a Pass message as shown below.
Note: If Odin fails, then close it, again boot your phone into download mode and repeat the complete procedure. Finally! You’ve successfully installed TWRP recovery on Samsung Galaxy A30 using the Odin flash tool.
Steps to Boot Galaxy A30 into TWRP recovery mode:
Step 1: Power off your Galaxy A30. Step 2: Press and hold the Volume up key + Power button simultaneously. As soon as you see the TWRP logo, leave both the keys. Note: If you are not able to reboot the phone into recovery, use the TWRP Manager app from Google Play Store.
